* 아리스토텔레스(Aristoteles, Aristotle BC 384~BC 322)

첫째 시기는 기원전 384/3-367년에 이르는 마케도니아와 칼키아디케에서의 유년기이고, 둘째 시기는 367년으로부터 플라톤의 죽음에 이르는 348/347년 동안의 플라톤의 아카데이미아에 체재하던 기간이다. 셋째 시기는 348년 혹은 347년에서 335년에 이르는 헤르메이아스(Hermeias)의 초청을 받아 소아시아의 앗소스(Assos)에 갔다가, 다시 그의 제자 테오프라스토스(Theophrastos)를 만난 레스보스 섬의 뮈틸레네에서 3년간 머무르고, 이어서 필립포스(Philippos) 왕의 초청을 받아들여 알렉산드로스 대왕의 선생 노릇을 하며 마케도니아의 펠라 등에 체재할 무렵이다. 끝으로 335년 혹은 334년으로부터 그의 죽음에 이르는 322년까지의 기간인 아테네의 뤼케이온에서의 자신이 세운 학교의 수장(首長)을 맡았던 기간이다.

* 생애 연보

기원전 384년 그리스 북동부의 스타게이로스(Stageiros)에서 태어났다.

384/3-367년 마케도니아와 칼키아디케에서 유년기를 보냈다.

367-348/347년 플라톤의 아카데이미아에 체재했다.

348년 혹은 347년-335년 헤르메이아스(Hermeias)의 초청을 받아 소아시아의 앗소스(Assos)에 머물렀다. 그의 제자 테오프라스토스(Theophrastos)를 만난 레스보스 섬의 뮈틸레네(Mytilene)에서 3년간 머물렀고, 필립포스(Philippos) 왕의 초청을 받아들여 알렉산드로스 대왕의 선생 노릇을 하며 마케도니아의 펠라(Pella) 등에 체재하였다.

335년 혹은 334년-322년 아테네의 뤼케이온에서의 자신이 세운 학교의 수장(首長)을 맡았다.

322년 에우보이아(Euboia)의 칼키스(Chalkis)에서 사망하였다.
